Leveraging Video & animation

Each page features a video background—tapping full-screen anytime allows you to bring the scene front and center.

Content transitions between sections give a brief full-screen look at the videos as well, building curiosity.

The Design-System

This website took a unique approach compared to others we had built prior. How?

No screens—just wireframes, IA, and a design manual we called Style-Tiles. See samples of that below:

Style-Tiles

The Style-Tiles were our own internal way of setting up a rapid prototyping design system. Built visually, client approved, then transformed into coded elements. This allowed the team and I to quickly build content pages, and have the developers bring them to life reliably, and super fast.

We managed to build the large site, and have the client approve all pages, using just medium-fidelity wireframes flooded with real final copy. This sped up the process, and removed distractions like colors and images from the approval process.

The Layouts

The content structure was designed in a way to segment relevant information blocks on a white canvas in such a way, that there is always background video of the island and resort showing through on one side.

This was done to not only create a modular CMS structure, but to also give an opportunity to use animations between sections to highlight the video playing.

Full-Featured

The website was a large undertaking for the team and I, as it included everything a fully functional eCom site would need, and we designed and coded everything from scratch.
Pages included:

  • Full Booking Funnel

  • Cart & Payment

  • Resort Features

  • Amenities & Rooms

  • Restaurants

  • Casino & Games

  • Transportation

  • Excursions

  • Weddings & Events

Supporting Cast

Along with the launch of the website, a integrated marketing campaign was created, with a pre-heat phase.

Creative included Billboards, Print Ads, Emails, Display, Local TV, Radio, Site Signage, and Social ads.

We even did a NY Grand Central takeover speaking directly to all the NY-Miami Snowbirds.
